Evening Cohorts in Tokyo: What We Learned from 2024
View Network ran six evening cohorts across Meguro and remote participants in 2024. The most consistent feedback was not about content difficulty — it was about predictable time boxes. Learners wanted known start/end times for live sessions and async deadlines that did not collide with corporate quarter close.
We shifted live blocks to 19:30–21:00 JST on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with optional Saturday morning office hours. Async labs unlock Monday mornings with Sunday 23:59 checkpoints. Mentor response SLA is 36 hours on weekdays.
Participation caps moved to 22 seats for discussion-heavy modules; larger groups split into lab pods with peer reviewers. We do not promise completion rates — we publish cohort averages internally and share methodology with corporate partners upon request.
For 2025, we are piloting recorded walkthroughs for two labs in the Machine Learning Foundations Program, with live sessions reserved for code review and design critiques.
